It’s so fun to take books for kids and gather inspiration for creative activities. Today, I’m sharing a round-up of storybook activities from Jill at Enchanted Homeschooling Mom. You may remember Jill from when Family Dinner Book Club started. She helped contribute to the table crafts for several months. It has several 'back to school' theme writing activities. Look at it here! Thank you for stopping by my new TPT store, Once Upon a Lesson! Best wishes for a great new school year! Keep little ones busy while waiting in cars, doctor's offices, or even at home! This well-designed cloth book has 16 pages of colorful activities, including matching shapes, telling time, counting, buttoning, zippering, tying laces, peek-a-boo and snapping.. Click here for pattern : Sew Baby. Read a wordless picture book to the class by developing a story line to go along with the pictures. After reading, ask students if they would have created a different story for the book. Reread the same book asking students to volunteer to develop a story line for each page. Explain how everyone can have a different interpretation of a book.

This book is amazing! A lot of detail was put into the illustrations of this book. Every page is a new pattern. In addition, on each page all the illustrations support the pattern down to the border on the page. Perfect for teaching patterns. I am a first grade teacher and use this book when teaching patterns in math/5(23). Scholastic's Storyworks is way more than a comprehensive collection of articles to engage young readers. There is more to it than just a student magazine that covers fictional text, information text, poetry, vocabulary skills, opinion, creative, and description writing.
